Every time we leave the house, its like we are preparing for a field trip.
You never realize the amount of freedom that you have taken for granted until you have a child. When I say that, I mean the ability to get up and go to run an errand, grab a bite to eat, workout, or any extracurricular activities or hobbies that you enjoy. I used to be able to do all the above without giving it any extra thought, NOT ANYMORE. Now when I do get a chance to leave, it’s like packing for an overnight or a two-day trip. The diaper bag needs to have, wipes, thermometers, medicine, snacks, extra clothes, bibs, change of clothes, Vaseline, towels, and whatever else you THINK you may need. I found out quickly that you do not need all those items each time you leave. Lord forbid you forget the wipes or run out of diapers, that can become a tragedy.
Now that you have your overnight baby bag ready, let’s get the baby to the car. From the time you decided you wanted to leave the house to go grab something from the store, about a half hour has passed. Before you leave you must make sure the baby has been fed, changed, etc. My son loved to take dumps right before we were getting ready to leave. I think he did it on purpose. He loved to watch me get him strapped in the car, think I am ready to leave, then unleash a smell from Hades. So, a decision must be made, do you want to get your trip started and risk diaper rash, or take him out of car seat and change him then and there. Oh yeah by the way, now 45 mins has passed…
LOL! From Hades though bruh? LOL
